SOLEMNITY




الوَقـارُِ / Solemnity

1ـ رسولُ اللهِ‏ِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): علَيكُم بِالسَّكِينَةِ والوَقارِ.
1– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘You must adopt tranquility and solemnity.’
[Kanz al-`Ummal, no. 6402]

2ـ رسولُ اللهِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): لَيس البِرُّ في حُسنِ اللِّباسِ والزِّيِّ، ولكنَّ البِرَّ في السَّكِينَةِ والوَقارِ.
2– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘Goodness does not lie in good clothes or attire, but goodness lies in tranquility and solemnity.’
[Kanz al-`Ummal, no. 6401]


الوَقـارُِ

3ـ الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): الوَقارُ حِليَةُ العَقلِ .
3– Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘Solemnity is the adornment of the intellect.’
[Ghurar al-Hikam, no. 270]

4ـ الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): لِتَكُن شِيمَتُكَ الوَقارَ، فمَن كَثُرَ خُرقُهُ استُرذِلَ .
4– Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘Let your prominent feature be solemnity for he who is increasingly clumsy becomes despicable.’
[Ghurar al-Hikam, no. 7397]

5ـ الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): جَمالُ الرّجُلِ الوَقارُ .
5– Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘The beauty of a man is his dignified bearing.’
[Ghurar al-Hikam, no. 4744]

موجِباتُ الوَقارِ / What Brings About Solemnity

6ـ الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): سَببُ الوَقارِ الحِلمُ.
6– Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘The cause of solemnity is clemency.’
[Ghurar al-Hikam, no. 5534]

7ـ الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): بِالصَّمتِ يَكثُرُ الوَقارُ.
7– Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘With silence solemnity increases.’
[Ghurar al-Hikam, no. 4182]

8ـ الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): مَن تَوَقَّرَ وُقِّرَ.
8– Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘He who respects others is dignified.’
[Ghurar al-Hikam, no. 7666]

9ـ الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): غايَةُ العِلمِ السَّكِينَةُ والحِلم .
9– Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘The peak of knowledge is tranquility and clemency.’
[Ghurar al-Hikam, no. 6380]

10ـ الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): لا يُستَعانُ ... علَى الوَقارِ إلّا بِالمَهابَةِ .
10– Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘Solemnity can only be achieved through adopting a respectful attitude.’
